U.S citizen arrested in Zimbabwe for ‘insulting’ Mugabe on Twitter

Martha O'Donovan who works for Magamba TV, was captured on Friday with her portable PC seized for purportedly calling President Robert Mugabe a "Goblin" on Twitter, It is the first arrest made since the production of a Ministry of Cyber Security a month ago.
Her legal counselors said said she was arrested for allegedly “undermining authority of or insulting the President”,  after tweeting about a “Goblin” whose wife and step-sons had imported a Rolls Royce, an apparent reference to 93-year-old Mugabe even though he was not named.

When contacted, Police representative Charity Charamba said she had no quick data about the case, as it was likewise assembled that Martha's Twitter account was supposedly bolted on Friday following her capture by policemen who raged her living arrangement with a search warrant.

A snappy look of her bolted Twitter account, shows photo on her landing page alluded to #ShutdownZimbabwe2016, a progression of dissents in 2016 that shook Mugabe's administration and inspired a savage crackdown in the city and on the web.

In spite of the fact that the U.S Embassy knows about Martha's capture, however Reuters announced that her Lawyer said if she's convicted, she faces a one year jail term.
