ENT ALERT: Drake out of Billboard's hot 100 for the first time in 8years

Drake has been one of the most successful artists in music past decade who has broken chart records left and right . We ’ ve lost count by now .

In May this year , Drake became the first artist in history to remain on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for eight continuous years , a run that goes back to his chart debut on May 23 , 2009. That ’ s when he entered the Billboard Hot 100 at number 92 with his debut single ‘ Best I Ever Had’ , later going all the way up to number 2 at its peak . This week (ending August 13 ) is the first time since 2009 that Drake is absent from the prestigious chart.

This ends a massive 430- week long stretch since his debut on May 23 , 2009 . Since the debut of ‘ Best I ever Had’ , the Toronto superstar has maintained a record Hot 100 attendance ,appearing in at least one lead or featured role on each weekly chart since then . It is pretty evident that Drizzy did not fully promote his latest project More Life . Perhaps a music video or two for the more popular songs on the album would have extended his stretch a little bit . Is this an end of the invincible run? Tell us what you think in the comments section .

In March this year , Drake had passed his Young Money label head Lil Wayne for the most charted titles among solo artists ( 154) in the Billboard Hot 100’ s 58 – year history .
