Shocking: Secondary School Wedding

The Bauchi State Government has ordered the shutdown of the ‘Sa’adu Zungur’ model primary and secondary school.
This is as a result of the discovery that some senior students of the school conduct illegal marriages amongst themselves in the school.
It sounds surprising and funny but this is real. The students keep getting wedded amongst themselves and they even have an organized way of doing this. They do this after school hours when the teachers are no longer around.
The Sum of N500 is paid by the Male students as dowry to their female counterparts as the condition for their marriages. Meanwhile, the classmates of both the so called ‘groom and bride’ contribute money for refreshments at the secret ceremonies.
This illegal act was brought to light when an ss2 student (name withheld), organized a wedding in the classroom after school hours but the cheers that came for the illegal ceremony drew the attention of some teachers who were still in school and the teachers found out that a wedding ceremony was going on.
This matter was therefore reported to the school Principal by name, "Malam Ahmed Zailani, who informed the Ministry of Education. This angered government officials and both the primary and secondary sections of that school.was closed.
Bauchi Deputy Governor, Engineer Nuhu Gidado, in his reaction attributed the children’s illegal marriages to the threats of moral decadence in the society. Through his media aide, Yakubu Adamu, disclosed that he directed the immediate closure of the school on Friday, 10th March, 2017 after being notified about the issue.
This is very shocking thing. Only God can help us
